Recursos para practicar espanol

Click here to access Spanish 3 review activities for 3/30.

If you really want to learn a foreign language, you need to live in a country where the language is spoken and use it everyday. For most of you, however, this won't be possible for a while and we'll have to make due with Spanish class five times a week. In order to improve at Spanish, you'll need to not only pay attention in class, but practice it outside of class as well. Below, are listed some of my favorite links for practicing Spanish at home (you can also use these to study for tests and quizzes!):

Quia.com

Quia.com is a website full of practice activities and games on just about any topic you could imagine (and not just Spanish!). Teachers who subscribe to the service upload these activities and as a student you can use them for free. Just type in the topic on which you want to find activities, like "numbers" or "preterite and imperfect", for example.

LearnSpanish.com

LearnSpanish.com is a website full of fantastic grammar and vocabulary explanations, along with quizzes and tests you can take to see how well you understand. This website is a little more advanced than Quia, and provides very thorough explanations that can serve to clarify and reinforce what we learn in class.

Cultural Resources

Columbus is home to a lot more Hispanic culture than you might think! As we discussed in class, you must complete one cultural activity each nine weeks and write a response in essay form on what you learned from it and how it relates to what we are learning in class. You should already have a rubric for how you will be graded; if you don't please click here to download it.

Below are some resources to get you started finding qualifying cultural events in the Columbus area (be sure to get parental permission before doing any of them). Remember, this is just a starting point and you're welcome to find events yourself! If you think of something that you think could qualify as a cultural event but is not listed on the rubric, please get it approved by Ms. Stone to ensure you get credit for the project.
